Mayes County Fair
Although cows, sheep, goats and chickens are a big draw, the Mayes County Fair is about art: the art of homemaking – canning, preserving, flower arrangement, sewing and designing. Arts and crafts, traditional art and photography all take large and growing positions in the fair. In 1916 the citizens of Mayes County voted to begin construction of a new $20 million Mayes County Fairgrounds.
