It is my pleasure to welcome you to Pryor Public Schools. Pryor is a vibrant community with something to offer for just about everyone.
Our school district enjoys strong support from the Pryor community, as well as a high level of parental involvement in every area of our school.
The Pryor district includes three elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school with facilities that include: the 2,500-seat Burdick Center, a vocational agriculture building with greenhouse, state-of-the-art auditorium and performing arts center, football stadium, track, baseball field, and softball field. We currently serve more than 2,875 students in grades PK-12.
Our staff of well-experienced educators continually exhibit a high level of commitment and care about our students’ learning. Our district continues to build a professional learning community, where teachers hold high expectations and refuse to allow students to fail.
Our students and teachers are equipped with integrated technology to meet their needs. Every school site houses modern computer labs; and, each teacher has at least one computer in the classroom. Interactive white boards are located throughout our classrooms. Our 1-to-1 Chromebook implementation provides devices for students to take home in grades 6 through 12 and devices for classroom use in PK through 5th grade.
Each school site has implemented a character education program entitled & quote; The Leader in Me & quote, which is based on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This leadership and personal responsibility approach provides our students with the opportunity to grow and showcase their leadership skills. All of Pryor Public School sites provide career exploration opportunities for all students as we work with local and regional colleges, CareerTech, business and industry to prepare our students to be college and career ready. At the Pryor High School Innovation Center, located in the Rogers State University building at the MidAmerica Industrial Park, students may earn dual credit from Rogers State University and select from a variety of STEM courses such as Applied Engineering, E-Sports, and Aviation.
We are proud of the many opportunities we have for our students. Pryor High School enjoys one of the strongest fine art departments in the State of Oklahoma. Pryor's award-winning instrumental and vocal music programs are well-respected throughout the state.
Multiple opportunities exist for all students to participate in programs, including: FFA, FCCLA, student government, academic teams and honor classes. A variety of sports including baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, wrestling, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball are also part of our school programs
Welcome to Pryor! Home of the Tigers!
